How to find a main idea in a paragraph??...we will learn it now...
To figure out the main idea, ask yourself this question: What is being said about the person, thing, or idea (the topic)?
The author can locate the main idea in different places within a paragraph. The main idea is usually a sentence, and it is usually the first sentence. The writer then uses the rest of the paragraph to support the main idea.
Let's use the paragraph below as an example. First find the topic, then look for the main idea.
Summer is a wonderful time to spend at West Beach. It is a beach with light- colored, soft sand. The coastline goes on for a long way and many people enjoy walking along it. Children like to play in the surf and walk along the rocks that are visible at low tide. This is a fun beach for people of all ages.
In this paragraph:
THE TOPIC IS WEST BEACH
THE MAIN IDEA (WHAT THE WRITER IS SAYING ABOUT THE TOPIC) IS THAT SUMMER IS A WONDERFUL TIME AT WEST BEACH
Here is another example:
The movie Apollo 13 was a blockbuster for the summer of 1995. It is an exciting story about space exploration. In the movie, the astronauts get in trouble while they are trying to return to Earth. People in the audience are on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens. What makes it even more exciting is that it is a true story.
In this paragraph:
THE TOPIC IS THE MOVIE APOLLO 13
THE MAIN IDEA IS IN THE FIRST SENTENCE: APOLLO 13 WAS A BLOCKBUSTER FOR THE SUMMER OF 1995

Week 8(1)
We will make it quick..today we learn about how to write compare and contrast essay...Compare and contrast essays are the other big essay types in academic writing. A comparison shows how two subject are similar; a contrast shows how to subject are different. People compare and contrast in both writing and life. In writing, you must first decide whether you will compare, contrast or both.
Here is the explanation of how to write the compare and contrast essay.
Introduction- The introduction must have a hook to attract the attention of the reader to read your essay. Besides, it also must contain quotation, statistic or any facts that can make your reader enjoy reading your essay. Don’t forget about the thesis statement.
Body paragraph- Difference 1, with topic sentence
Difference 2, with topic sentence
Similarity with topic sentence
Conclusion- Summarising the main ideas or restating the thesis statement.

Here is a brief list of things that you might accomplish in your concluding paragraph(s).* There are certainly other things that you can do, and you certainly don't want to do all these things. They're only suggestions:
- include a brief summary of the paper's main points.
- ask a provocative question.
- use a quotation.
- evoke a vivid image.
- call for some sort of action.
- end with a warning.
- universalize (compare to other situations).
- suggest results or consequences.

Week 7(2)
Today miss zu want to teach us about how to write cause and effect but with her own way....she divide us into 5 group.....then she show us a video and ask us to write cause and effect essay based on the video....
In this kind of essay, the aim is to explain the causes (reasons) or the effects (results) of an event or situation. I think this type of essay is the easier one compare to other.
Here is a little bit guide...
1-Present an event, phenomenon or trend. This will be the cause and the starting point of your essay. You should explain the background of the cause in significant detail so your reader understands the basis of your paper.
2-Explain the effects of your event, phenomenon or trend. You should continually refer back to the cause to make links and connections between the cause and effect. Links and connections will help your audience effectively process the cause and effect.
4-Organize your essay effectively. A good model to follow is a thesis statement that presents your event, phenomenon or trend at the beginning of the essay. Each subsequent body paragraph should start with a topic sentence that explains the cause or effect up for discussion.
5-End with a recap of the causes and effects discussed in your essay. In complicated essays like cause and effect, it's important to revisit the major points and the overall idea of your essay so the reader can tie together your thoughts.

3-Limit your major points. While there may be multiple causes or multiple effects in any given relationship, limit your points depending on the length of your essay. Too many points will only confuse your reader.

Week 6(3)
Do you know what is thesis statement???....
Today we will learn how to make thesis statement....do you know what is thesis statement???
A Thesis statement, in essays, is a single line which clarifies the main argument for the rest of the essay. The thesis statement is usually found at the end of the first paragraph of an essay or similar document and summarizes the main point and perspective of the writer. The main function of a thesis statement is to introduce the reader to the purpose of the document and outline the major topics that will be covered to achieve that purpose. The thesis statement must then be referred to in the conclusion of the essay, as the author must then balance the multiple perspectives presented in the argument: which side of the argument is stronger and how does this enhace the reader's understanding of the debate? If the main argument of the essay in unclear, then the thesis statement is badly written.
If you want to read an example of thesis statement....here is my thesis statement....
There is no doubt that smoking Hookah is as addictive as smoking cigarettes and it usually affects smokers prominently on their health condition, consequently, this implication might be caused by several reasons not only due to peer influence but as well as appealing characteristics and easy accessibility of Hookah materials.

Hi all....today we will learn about new thing which is fact vs opinion....miss zu want to teach us how to differentiate between fact and opinion....
According to Miss Zu, a fact is something that is true about a subject that can be proven or something that actually happened. For examples ‘I think..’,‘I believe..’ and many more. Besides, we can state that a statement is an opinion when there is an adjective.

This is Nadhirah's group. They have 4 members which are Nadhirah, Saleha, Syamimi and Shima. They promote a product of Safi cream which can make skin smooth like a baby skin.
After give a talk, miss zu divides us into some group. She give us an item and ask us to give 5statement about the product. Then the audience need to guess how many fact and how many opinion in the statement.

Week 3(3)
Now it is again about the term paper. We need to choose our type of essay. I had decided to choose causes and effects type of essay. This is because i think that it is easier if we do that type of essay. We can find what is the cause of teenager to smoke hookah and what is the effect of that.
One of the causes for teenager to smoke hookah is because of peer influence.Other than that is because of the sweet smell and easy to obtain. The effect of coz is about the health. I cant talk much, if u want to know to need to read my essay once it is finished.

Week 3(1)
Today we learn whats is plagiarism in other word "cetak rompak".
Want to know what is plagiarism??
Read this :-
Plagiarism is defined in dictionaries as the "wrongful appropriation," "close imitation," or "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work, but the notion remains problematic with nebulous boundaries. The modern concept of plagiarism as immoral and originality as anideal emerged in Europe only in the 18th century, particularly with the Romantic movement, while in the previous centuries authors and artists were encouraged to "copy the masters as closely as possible" and avoid "unnecessary invention.
Plagiarism is not a crime per se but is disapproved more on the grounds of moral offence, and cases of plagiarism can involve liability for copyright infringement.
